As the job market gets more difficult, you can expect even more folks to start their small businesses around blogging and other Internet services. The opportunities are there, and you can expect folks to come and grab them. But a lot of folks don&#8217;t know how to balance their Internet life and their regular life. When you don&#8217;t have a boss of your own, it&#8217;s easy to get too focused on the job at hand and spend hours in front of a computer. And let&#8217;s not forget that a lot of folks like to eat a lot of junk food while working on a computer. These little things add up fast and the next thing you know you have gained a lot of weight and are less healthy as well. The Internet life may be fun, but that doesn&#8217;t mean you should sacrifice your health in the process.</p>
<p>There are simple practices that you can take to stay healthy while managing your Internet venture. You just have to watch what you eat and exercise regularly. Here are a few things I have incorporated in my own life:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Eat well</strong>: I used to eat a lot of crackers in my past job. But after a while I realized that it was just not healthy. Now a piece of a carrot does the job for me.</li>
<li><strong>Exercise</strong>: sitting around on a chair for hours is not exactly a calorie burning activity. That&#8217;s why I take time to get outside every 30 minutes or so and walk for 5 minutes. I use my Wii to get even more exercise when I am bored. Finally, I go for a run at night and lift some weight. The last thing you want to do is cut corners when it comes to your health.</li>
<li><strong>Sit well</strong>: you have probably heard this before but sitting in front of a computer can hurt your body if you do it the wrong way. So make sure you sit straight.</li>
<li><strong>Get out</strong>: spending a lot of time at home can be a lot of fun, especially if you are your own boss. But just because you don&#8217;t have to get out often, doesn&#8217;t mean you shouldn&#8217;t. Incorporate social events in your life on a daily basis. That would make you get out of your house!</li>
<li><strong>Take your nutrition</strong>: don&#8217;t forget to take your vitamins on a regular basis. And you should drink often as well. It helps your body in more ways than one.</li>
<li><strong>Sleep well</strong>: make sure to get enough sleep. It keeps your brain sharp and helps you be more productive.</li>
</ul>
<p>There are a lot of things you can do to live a more healthy Internet life. I like to keep things simple. Eat well, sleep well, and exercise often. It&#8217;s not rocket science!</p>

<p>As someone who struggled with my weight for years, I know a thing or two about failed diet plans and gaining weight while shooting for weight loss. One of the best diets that I ever tried was the simple &#8220;eat nothing after 5 PM&#8221; plan. I don&#8217;t know whether this is an Oprah diet or is known by some other name, but this was one of the best short-term diets that I tried. When I started the diet, I was 212 pounds. In a matter of 3 weeks, I lost 15 pounds and was on my way down to 160 (which is my ideal weight).</p>
<p>This diet is so simple, it&#8217;s a no brainer. You eat conservatively throughout the day and stop eating after 6 0&#8242;clock. I was skeptical about the whole thing, but the results kept coming in, and I was excited. As great as this diet was, it doesn&#8217;t really work for too long. Unfortunately, your body gets used to the diet, and you stop losing weight. That&#8217;s the reality with most diets. They work for a while and keep you exited, but it gets tougher after a few weeks or months.</p>
<p>Here is the moral story. You should always try to keep your body on its toes. Taking less calories is only a small part of the equation. You should also aim for exercising and changing your diet plan quite often to confuse your body and burn more fat. Your body is so good at adjusting that you should stop it from doing so. Diets become stagnant after a while. That&#8217;s why if you are planning to lose weight, you should change your lifestyle and not just your diet.</p>
